Starting School

Interest in Admission Form

Children start school in the “academic year” in which they become five. We take a maximum of 30 children into the Reception class each year.

Admissions to the school for children entering the Reception class are administered by the Local Authority. Information outlining the procedure is issued in November and a Reception Common Application Form (RCAF) needs to be submitted by early January. Online applications are preferred, but paper copies are available from the school office. Details can be found on the Kent County Council website here.

The school arranges open mornings for prospective parents. We appreciate parents completing an interest in admissions form. This will ensure you received a information at the appropriate time. However registering an interest does not give your child priority as places are allocated by the Local Authority following the completion of the RCAF.

If you have recently moved into the area or are planning to do so and would like your child to transfer from their current school, you should initially contact the school to establish whether we have a vacancy in your child’s year group. You will then need to complete an In Year Casual Admissions Form (IYCAF). This is available from the school or from

Primary Admissions Team
Room 2.24, Sessions House
County Hall

A separate form should for each child of school age who needs a place. You are invited to name up to three schools and the Local Authority (LA) will approach each school on your behalf to see if they have any available places in your child’s current year group.

Looking for a school place for your child?

Please phone the school to arrange a visit.
