The Vision of Boughton School

Our Vision and Values

Our Vision Statement, a commitment to each child and family

As a school we believe passionately that every child has the right to achieve their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.  We are committed to providing a high quality education that prepares children to be successful, confident learners within a rapidly changing world.  We aim to achieve this by making learning fun, practical, exciting and challenging.  To learn and develop together in a safe environment based on Christian values of mutual care, courtesy, consideration and respect. Being a Methodist school is very important to us and has played an important part in shaping our ethos and values.

Our Values, helping to develop the potential of each child

Education both influences and reflects the values of our society, and the kind of society we want to be. A child’s primary education has a huge impact on them, helping to influence and shape the values, attitudes and beliefs of the adult they later become.  We fully recognise our influence as a school and our responsibility to ensure that the values, attitudes and beliefs we promote will have the positive effect we all desire.  We have therefore spent a great deal of time thinking about the values that underpin the curriculum and work of this school.

Our school values help to shape how we live and learn together as a community. We have chosen our 5 core values as a frame of reference for bringing out the best in all of us. They are the foundation for our safe and caring school community committed to working and learning together to achieve our potential.  We identified  a further 12 Christian values that we will emphasise with the children and use as the basis of our collective worship over a two-year, twelve-term cycle.

Our five core values are:

Friendship
Perseverance
Forgiveness
Trust
Justice

The additional five to be included in collective worship are:

Thankfulness
Community
Peace
Hope
Joy

How are we doing with this?

We are extremely proud of  the outcome of our most recent SIAMs inspection (November 2014).  Please read the report below.
